Faculty Development Programme On Perspectives Of Mathematics In CBCS 3rd November 2016

Profile of the college:
St.Pious X Degree & P.G. College for Women is a Catholic Minority Institution administered by the Society of Catechist Sisters of St. Ann’s, Hyderabad.
It is a self-financed Institution affiliated to Osmania University. The Core values of the college are Integrity through teaching and learning,   Quality consciousness, Innovation and Service. The college aims at training the young women to seek knowledge, become leaders of quality in life and serve the society with Truth, Love, and Justice.
 The college has been accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade in the year 2012-2013. It maintains state-of-the-art infrastructure meeting the National standards and also tie up with the reputed organizations such as ITC, Global hospitals, and NGO s to carry out various projects and research work, involving the students for their overall development. The Institution has carved a niche at Osmania University by achieving 25 gold medals and regular University ranks.

Profile of the Department of Mathematics:
The department of Mathematics is one of the successful departments. It lays emphasis on the power and attractiveness of the subject, which is often hidden from students. With a scope that spans the Mathematics curriculum from its theory to applications, the department has revolutionized Mathematics learning through various extension lectures delivered by eminent professors, and many other innovative student centric activities. Regular tests, group discussions, quiz and seminars are the powerful tools that enable students to visualize, explore and understand Mathematics as never before. Students are finding good placement in various fields and 90% of the students join P.G. Course in the prestigious institutes in India and abroad. The secret behind this success lies in the hands of dedicated, hard working and well-expressed faculty. Workshops and exhibitions provide a platform for students to bring their innate talents and innovative ideas to the forefront.
Objectives of the Programme:
The aim of this workshop is to discuss theoretical and practical applications related to real life as well as research problems and realize the need for application of Mathematical Methods in decision making. The aims of teaching and learning Mathematics are to encourage and enable person to attain proficiency in critical thinking and Problem Solving, in Mathematics.
Registration:
The Principals of the respective colleges are requested to depute faculty members to attend the workshop. Registration fee for each faculty member is Rs.200/-
